COMMAND POSTS

The Command post is installed in a MODULMED worldwide patented expandable "drawer" type container. MODULMED has developed command and communication units that meet high demands of sturdiness, reliability, habitability, handling capacities, ease of use, and transportation abilities required by different Armies. This product is therefore the fruit of a close collaboration with the specialized technical services of several NATO Armies. The used technology and techniques for the development, the planning and the manufacturing are original. They have been severely well tested, controlled, approved and officially validated.

The operational qualities and the professional execution of the product are the result of MODULMED experience acquired through more than 20 years of activities entirely dedicated to the development, the planning and the manufacturing of military mobile units in ISO special containers.

Technical characteristics of the command posts:

An original and exclusive concept for expansion allows the following technical and operational characteristics:

• external dimensions in transport position according ISO 668 1C (20 feet) norms;
• rapid and simple folding and unfolding;
• reliable structures and mechanisms;
• exceptional internal dimensions in open position;
• permanent fitting of the equipment on the walls and on the ceiling for a rapid and safe operational immediate use
• in transport position, possibility to transport and to solidly fix additional equipment;
• heavy equipment can be used by a large number of persons, both in the main part and in the expandable part of the container. The concept allows both rigidity and habitability of the container (with a height of around more than 2 meters in the expanded part).
• rigidity on torsion and reliable gaskets' system which is not submitted to any mecanical stress during transportation even on off-road situations.
• the container has the particular rigidity of a closed large caisson, both in transport position and in working position, assuring also a high standard of permanent efficiency to the gaskets' system among the container's elements.

Transportation and handling

The expandable container is transportable by air (for example by Hercules C130), by road (e.g. APS 95), by sea and by railroad.

It can be handled with standard lifting jacks for ISO containers but also loaded and unloaded by mean of a H Hook system without the need of a sub-frame.

Moreover, MODULMED patented expandable containers can be handled by mean of standard forklifts.

Leveling

A set of jacks furnished with the container ensures the leveling on the ground.
